Hello and welcome to ELL (English as a Second Language)! My name is Ayse Takhim and this is my 19th year of teaching in Belleville. I am very happy to be a part of the School 4 Family and I look forward to a very successful 20-2020-2021 school year! 

 

I work with students in grades K-6 who are acquiring English language skills, focusing on the 4 domains of language, which are Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. Our ELL program supports and extends what the children learn in the classroom.  We learn language through the content areas. I am a firm believer that second language acquisition can be attained with a strong command of the native language, so please continue to work with your child in your native language.

 

I work closely with the classroom teachers to support the students in their learning. Your children work with me in small groups. The goal of the ELL Program is to provide the students with the skills necessary to transition and maintain success in their classroom.
